The second vice president of the National Assembly, Stalin González, said that the mediation promoted by the Kingdom of Norway in Barbados is exhausted, since everything that had to be discussed was discussed.
González recalled that it was the delegation of the regime that abandoned the process, despite having assured weeks ago, that they would never retire from the negotiating table.
“In these five weeks they have entered into contradictions, they first said that it was because of the sanctions, then that they were in a process of reflection and wanted to make some changes in the guidelines, and then they made that story about the Essequibo, this only shows that there is no real will to reach a solution to the crisis”, said the Venezuelan parliamentarian.
Furthermore, González said that “the format that was used with Barbados is a format that is already worn out. Going back to that format is not viable, because everything that had to be discussed was discussed”, he said.
Gonzalez said they have been clear in the proposals and if the regime is willing to accept, an agreement will be reached. “The kingdom of Norway is making an effort, but the regime is clinging to power”, he said.
