The President (E) of the Republic, Juan Guaidó, informed all Venezuelans about the intentions of the Nicolás Maduro regime to dissolve parliament, the only legal institution in the country.
Through social media posts, Guaidó warned the regime not to cross that serious line. “If tomorrow they do what they intend to do, then we will enter a higher phase of conflict. If tomorrow the dictatorship decides to take that path, I have no doubt that there will be an answer of the people, the Armed Forces, and the international community”, he said.
For her part, the President of the Inter Parliamentary Union, Gabriela Cuevas, said that any attack on the National Assembly of Venezuela is an attack on democracy.
“The parliaments represent the people, their plurality, no government can replace it. As President #IPU I call on @NicolasMaduro to respect the popular mandate and the National Assembly”, she wrote on her Twitter account.
