The Preliminary Commission of the Electoral Nominations Committee elected by the National Assembly informs the country that the process of calling on civil society to join the Electoral Nominations Committee is a demonstration of the participation and commitment of the Venezuelan people and their social organizations to consolidate a path that will allow for free elections and build democratic solutions to the enormous crisis that the nation is going through.
During this whole week it was demonstrated, once again, that Venezuela aspires a new electoral entity that will allow the millions of Venezuelans, inside and outside our borders, to decide the future of the country.
Furthermore, we inform you that three times more nominations than the positions necessary of women and men have been registered before this Preliminary Commission for the formation of the Electoral Nominations Committee.
We especially thank the authorities and student leaders of the Federation of Student Unions of the UCV, for the commitment demonstrated during this journey and their selfless work for the good of the nation, as well as the staff of the national legislative branch ready for this task so necessary for democracy.
Likewise, we would like to announce that in response to the request of social organizations and the limitations presented by citizens from other states in the country in arriving at the headquarters ready to make the application, this Preliminary Commission, in a meeting held to evaluate this request, decided by the majority of its members to extend the deadline for applications to allow effective participation of all citizens.
In view of this, we inform you that the new deadline to continue presenting applications will be from Monday, February 3rd to Friday, February 7th of this year, maintaining the FCU of the Central University of Venezuela as the place where documents are received, from 9am to 1pm.
