The deputy of the National Assembly, Williams Dávila Barrios, called on Venezuelans to take to the streets this Monday in support of the protests called by the education union, a call that – in his opinion – is more than valid as a result of the miserable salary conditions in which the teachers are kept under Maduro.
“We cannot continue to maintain our teachers with barely two dollars’ salary, salaries and social protection for our teachers must be revalued. Let’s protest, let’s activate ourselves, together with our teachers, in order to assert the human right of quality education for our children and future generations of the country,” urged the parliamentarian.
The legislator, after questioning the mockery that today the clauses of the collective contracts of the education union represent, emphasized “the Maduro regime, indolent, really perverse, is the enemy of the teaching profession.”
In view of this, Dávila added that the demands of the education sector can only be met with a National Emergency Government that guarantees quality education, school infrastructure, salaries and plans for students and teachers.
