Today, through a promotional spot published on his social networks the Commissioner for the United Nations, Miguel Pizarro, officially launched the explanatory and educational campaign: Es Al País.
Through photos, graphics, videos, infographics, Instagram explanatory reels, interviews, ‘live’ videos through different platforms, the Office of the Commissioner for the United Nations intends, with this campaign, to clarify the doubts of Venezuelans regarding the operation of the United Nations Organization (UNO), multilateral organisms, cooperation agencies, humanitarian aid, management of resources, donations and contributions of the international community; as well as to expose the peculiarities of the case of Venezuela before the UNO.
The Commissioner explained: “Besides the pedagogy and the explanation, we also want to demolish the myths and prejudices about the UN, its cooperation agencies and multilateral organizations and how the resources are managed and put at the order of Venezuelans and the country in order to palliate the Complex Humanitarian Emergency in which Venezuela is immersed and to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. The campaign seeks to answer the questions that Venezuelans are asking us day by day”.
Likewise, Pizarro assured that this campaign will be atemporal, since it intends to nourish itself with the advances within the United Nations System, as well as with the most frequent doubts of the users in the networks, in order to update and add content that needs to be explained to the public: “In moments like the one Venezuela is going through it is necessary that we, the leaders, can be transparent and pedagogical regarding our work and the effort we make to fight the crisis to which the regime intends to condemn us”.
It is important to highlight that this effort is inserted in the midst of events of national and international relevance such as the appearance of the Office for Humanitarian Aid, carried out a few days ago before the Commission for Integral Social Development of the National Assembly, in which Commissioner Pizarro together with Deputy Commissioner Manuela Bolívar presented the Office’s management report; and two events of great magnitude at the UN to be held in the next few days: the UN General Assembly; and the 45th session of the Human Rights Council.
