The President (e) of Venezuela, Juan Guaidó, requested Venezuelan educators, during the swearing-in of ‘Teachers for the Freedom’ held this Wednesday, to activate in every corner of the country against the fraud of December 6th and in favor of participation in the Popular Consultation.
“The Popular Consultation belongs to the Venezuelans, it belongs to the teachers, it belongs to civil society, not to Juan Guaidó. The Popular Consultation is aimed at being able to choose freely, which is the fight we have given to put an end to this tragedy.”
Also, he asked them to work and be active in explaining to each Venezuelan that on December 6th what is being proposed by the dictatorship is a fraud, not an election and therefore the call is to not participate. He said that to achieve the objectives it is important to ‘strengthen the union’ of civil society, unions, students and even the Venezuelan diaspora.
Guaidó remarked that: “the objectives and the route are clear and what remains is to fight without fainting to achieve them.”
“Here we are firm and moving forward because they have not been able, nor will be able to silence our voices. We have to be united and mobilized, that depends on us.”
The best lesson
The interim President of Venezuela thanked Venezuelan educators for the strength and impetus they have shown in the fight for better education, and for their labor demands.
“Today our teachers and professors are giving the best lesson to our children, which is: not to give up and fight for our dreams. Dear educators, thank you for your fight, you know that you count on me and on all Venezuelans.”
He also said that despite the difficulties and the ‘very poor conditions’ in which they work, the teachers remain firm, with courage and the best disposition to educate and train the future of Venezuela, children and youth.
