The Presidential Commissioner for Foreign Relations, Julio Borges, held a meeting on Tuesday with the Foreign Minister of the Dominican Republic, Roberto Álvarez Gil, where they discussed support for the Venezuelan democratic cause in the face of the serious crisis that is deepening in the country.

At the meeting, Borges stressed that the support of all of America is essential to pressure and achieve democratic change in Venezuela.

Borges condemned that Maduro’s dictatorship continues to send humanitarian aid to buy political support in the region

“It is America that suffers the most from the consequences of Maduro’s Failed State, that is why it must lead the search for a solution to the country,” he said.

“Universal justice is essential to raise the pressure on the dictatorship,” he said.

The representative of the foreign policy of the interim government pointed out that: “until there is a transition in the country, the migration and the drama of the Venezuelan people will continue.”

Similarly, Borges reiterated his rejection of what happened in Trinidad and Tobago with migrant Venezuelan children.

“What we saw was very cruel, that’s why we sent a letter to the foreign minister of that country. We Venezuelans were very receptive to all those who migrated to our land, these expressions of discrimination are not fair. The countries must understand that Venezuelans will continue to flee until Maduro leaves power,” he concluded.
