The Presidential Commissioner for Foreign Relations, Julio Borges, pointed to Nicolás Maduro as the main person responsible for the fact that more Venezuelans continue to die from COVID-19 every day.
“Venezuela has barely vaccinated against Covid 1.16% of the population, we are among the 3 countries with the lowest number of vaccinated in the continent,” lamented Borges in a message published through his social network accounts.
The highest representative of the Interim Government diplomacy stressed that “this is the sole responsibility of Maduro, who did not negotiate vaccines on time, politicized the Covax agreement and lied about the Sputnik V vaccines.”
“Every day without vaccines is a day where more Venezuelans die from this pandemic,” he said.
Finally, he demanded that the dictatorship expedite the arrival of vaccines.
“They cannot continue to play with the lives of the most vulnerable Venezuelans and healthcare professionals,” he concluded.
