The Presidential Commissioner for Foreign Relations, Julio Borges, thanked the Human Rights Watch report in which the Government of Chile is urged to stop the deportations of Venezuelans and respect due process.
“At the time we warned that the deportations of Venezuelans by Chile did not comply with humanitarian principles and international agreements on migration,” Borges said in a message released through his social networks.
The highest diplomatic representative of Venezuela indicated that the most recent Human Rights Watch report confirms that these decisions were taken without measuring the impact on human rights and should not be repeated.
“The Government of Chile must stop these practices since Venezuelans are refugees who flee, exposing their lives, from a regime that has undermined freedoms and the conditions for a dignified life,” he said.
Furthermore, Borges asserted that “The path must be solidarity and inclusion!”
