The Presidential Commissioner for the United Nations, Miguel Pizarro, condemned the tragic reality that Venezuelan childhood lives in the midst of the crisis that plagues the country as a result of Nicolás Maduro’s regime.
On World Children’s Day, Pizarro denounced that Venezuelan children are one of the most vulnerable groups in the face of the Humanitarian Emergency that Venezuela is going through.
“The reality of our children is critical: youngsters who leave their schools to go to work, destitute. Who only eat once a day or rummage through the garbage to feed themselves,” he lamented.
The Commissioner also mentioned the xenophobia suffered by thousands of Venezuelan children who flee with their families in search of a better future.
“A whole generation is being brought up today in the middle of the worst crisis in the country and suffering the worst consequences,” he condemned.
