On the occasion of World Day for Safety and Health at Work, the Presidential Commissioner for the United Nations (UN), Miguel Pizarro, demanded that Venezuela comply with all the recommendations proposed by the International Labor Organization (ILO) .
“We echo the complaints made by the workers of our country, victims of persecution, threats and retaliation,” said Pizarro in a message released through his social network accounts.
The ILO recently accused Nicolás Maduro’s regime of violating the rights of employers and workers in Venezuela.
The report states that the rights to freedom of association, free unions, collective bargaining and tripartite participation in setting the national minimum wage are being violated.
For this reason, the ILO urged Maduro’s regime to cease the persecution against labor movements and unions.
