The Commissioner for the United Nations, Miguel Pizarro, informed that between Tuesday, October 6th and Wednesday, October 7th, the Human Rights Council will vote on resolution A/HRC/45/L43/Rev.1 on the situation of human rights in Venezuela.
Pizarro explained that the resolution will be presented by a coalition of more than 50 countries of the world, who have reiterated their support and commitment to the defense of the country’s human rights and who are proposing to extend the mandate of the OHCHR (Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights) and the Fact-Finding Mission.
“It is necessary for the victims and their families, and for all Venezuelans that each crime is documented and reported, that those responsible are identified and that a path to justice is built,” he said.
The Commissioner reiterated the call from the Legitimate Government to the international community to support the project for the life of all Venezuelan victims of the dictatorship.
Es necesario para las víctimas y familiares, y para todos los venezolanos que se documenten y denuncien cada uno de los crímenes, se identifique a los responsables, y se continúe construyendo el camino a la justicia.
