The Presidential Commissioner for Human Rights and Attention to Victims, Humberto Prado, stated that the report once again ratifies the continuous and sustained violations of extrajudicial executions, rape, political persecution, forced disappearance and torture that are committed in Venezuela.
“Despite its (the report’s) recommendations, they continue to apply beatings, electric shocks and sexual violence. Since July 2019 to date, it is clearly visible that in Venezuela there is a continuous violation of human rights,” he said through his Twitter account.
Mr. Prado highlighted that among the new recommendations made by Michelle Bachelet are to guarantee access to public information and data in order to properly guide and monitor public policies, particularly in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic.
“The recommendation to prioritize a legislative agenda is also highlighted, in addition to avoiding the adoption of laws and regulations that are disproportionately restrictive of fundamental freedoms,” he said.
The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet, detailed this Thursday in a new report that the system of abuse and torture applied by Nicolás Maduro’s regime in Venezuela continues in force.
