The Presidential Commissioner for Human Rights and Attention to Victims, Humberto Prado, condemned the new confrontation of gangs against the police in La Vega parish, in Caracas.
“An operation for a photo op but without important results was carried out by officials of Maduro’s regime in La Vega and celebrated by the Minister of the Interior, Justice and Peace with ‘fanfare’,” he said through his Twitter account.
Mr. Prado reaffirmed that the operation was a “pot of smoke”, with a disastrous result of deceased persons (bystanders).
The Commissioner stressed that if there is no real criminal policy that attacks the problem in depth, “we will continue with the Coqui and the Wilexis (Gang leaders involved in the shootouts).”
“The Minister of the regime mobilized more than 1,400 officers and today’s response was lead (…) in which the lives of the citizens Guillermo Gregorio, 59 years old and Mrs. Yoraima Diaz, 47 years old, were killed,” he said.
The Presidential Commissioner reported that it is sending to the Internal Policy Commission of the legitimate National Assembly a series of proposals to be presented to the National Assembly to attack the problem.
Two people died after being injured by stray bullets in a confrontation between criminals and police officers that took place early this Monday, June 14th, in La Vega parish, in Caracas.
