The Presidential Commissioner for Human Rights and Victims Assistance, Humberto Prado, expressed his contempt after the new attack against the National Assembly and democracy in Venezuela, following the arbitrary detention of Congressman Gilbert Caro, at the hands of security force officials of the usurper regime of Nicolás Maduro.
“From the Commission we categorically reject the detention of Deputy Gilbert Caro and the continuous attack that the dictatorial regime has carried out against the parliamentarians in the last few days. We made aware of the facts regarding this third irregular detention of Congressman Caro, for political reasons, the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) and the officials of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights’ office in Venezuela, Michelle Bachelet,” Prado said.
The Commissioner added that the parliamentarian has precautionary measures dictated by the IACHR and called on international human rights bodies to release Congressman Caro as soon as possible.
Gilbert Caro was arrested this Friday afternoon, December 20th, by officials of the Special Action Forces, an extermination group of Nicolás Maduro’s regime whose dissolution was part of the main recommendations made by the High Commissioner for Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet, in the July report.
The regime has made public the support it has given to this human rights transgressor group.
