The Presidential Commissioner for Human Rights and Victims Assistance, Humberto Prado, informed that the delegation of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) will arrive in the country next Tuesday, February 4th.
Prado announced that the delegation would be landing at Maiquetía International Airport, Vargas State, at 12:14 pm.
“This visit is an opportunity for the victims to present their cases directly to the delegation, to report on how the events occurred and on the level of the investigations,” he said.
The Commissioner reiterated that the IACHR is an autonomous body of the Organization of American States (OAS), whose mandate derives from the OAS Charter and the American Convention on Human Rights.
The President in charge of Venezuela, Juan Guaidó, ratified the invitation to the country to the IACHR delegation despite the refusal and threats of Nicolás Maduro’s regime.
