The Presidential Commissioner for Human Rights and Attention to Victims, Humberto Prado, welcomed Ms. Patricia Tappatá Valdez, who was appointed on September 1st by the President of the UN Human Rights Council, Nazhat S. Khan, as member of the International Mission to Investigate the Facts about Venezuela.
“Ms. Tappatá Valdez joins Marta Valiñas, Mission President, and Francisco Cox Vial, whose appointments were announced in December 2019. She replaces Paul Seils from the United Kingdom, who resigned as a member of the corps earlier this year,” Mr. Prado indicated through his official Twitter account.
The presidential commissioner highlighted that Tappatá Valdez has a distinguished career in human rights, justice and democratic reform.
“Tappatá Valdez brings to the Mission a great understanding of human rights in Latin America, with a particular focus on accountability and advocacy,” he concluded.
