Today the US Department of Justice has indicted the dictator Nicolas Maduro and 13 of his accomplices on charges of drug trafficking, money laundering and supporting terrorism.
In the United States, there is a separation and independence of powers, and its justice system is recognized around the world for its effectiveness, seriousness, respectability and transparency.
Therefore, I am confident that the charges brought against the members of the regime are well founded and will help free the country from the criminal system that has hijacked our country for so many years.
These charges confirm what we Venezuelans have long known and denounced and confronted.
Our problem is not just a political problem: we are facing a cartel, the Maduro Cartel.
For decades, our institutions and our territory have been kidnapped and controlled by characters similar to Pablo Escobar, Osama Bin Laden or Chapo Guzmán. If the peoples of Colombia and Mexico suffered so much because of these characters that they did not have one tenth of the political or economic power that Maduro and his accomplices have had, imagine the damage we have been exposed to and what we have faced.
These criminals are responsible for the fact that today Venezuela is suffering one of the worst humanitarian crises in the history of the region, making us the country that is least prepared to face the conovarium. Those who should have been working for the people have spent years dealing with corruption, drug trafficking and terrorism.
No one can have any doubts anymore: there is no possibility of getting the international financial help the country needs in the face of destruction and pandemic as long as the Maduro cartel is in Miraflores.
I reaffirm my willingness to get all the help possible for our people in the face of the threat of the coronavirus, with the fundamental condition that I have raised: the necessary resources or supplies cannot fall into the hands of a gang of corrupt and proven drug traffickers, but into the hands of international, humanitarian and health organizations that will take them directly to the most needy.
In view of the situation we are living in today, where a pandemic could put our lives even more at risk, I reaffirm that we will continue to increase the pressure until the Criminal Usurper State is dismantled, and I will do everything necessary to be free and to protect you, the Venezuelan people.
We will save Venezuela!
