The Presidential Commissioner for Attention to Victims, Humberto Prado, denounced that the dictatorship continues to carry out crimes against humanity.
“Extrajudicial executions, forced disappearances, arbitrary detentions, sexual crimes, torture and cruel and inhuman treatment continue to be carried out in a systematic way,” he said through his Twitter account.
Prado affirmed that the rights of Venezuelans continue to be violated, despite the recommendations issued by the UN High Commissioner, Michelle Bachelet, and the Memorandum of Understanding issued by her office and signed by the regime in September 2019.
The Presidential Commission for Human Rights considered that no recommendation has been fulfilled. “In judicial matters, judges and prosecutors lack independence and are political actors appointed to carry out the orders of the regime.”
On March 11th, the High Commissioner for Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet, published an update on her report on Venezuela, in which she points out extrajudicial executions, scarce access to basic services and low wages.
