The First Lady of the Republic, Fabiana Rosales de Guaidó, condemned the death of Miguel Ángel, an 11-month-old baby who was a victim of the crisis in the Venezuelan health system caused by Nicolás Maduro’s dictatorship.
“Today, a mother is mourning the death of another Venezuelan, Miguel Ángel, who was only 11 months old, a victim of the negligence of the dictatorship that for 20 years destroyed the health system and who sowed pain in every home in our nation,” said Rosales de Guaidó.
The First Lady pointed out that the regrettable death of this child, after being taken to a vaccination day organized by the dictatorship “once again puts a face to the complex humanitarian emergency that our people are suffering, as is the case with the nephrology service of JM de los Ríos, where children die for lack of medical supplies.”
“Miguel’s death shows what are the sanitary conditions in the country, where since 2016, for example, infant mortality has increased due to the crisis in the sector. Not to mention the chronic malnutrition that is accelerating due to the emergency,” she warned.
This is why she sent a message demanding justice. “Enough of Venezuela’s future dying from inaction and incompetence!”
“We demand an independent investigation to determine the cause of the death of the little boy and to establish responsibility for the baby and the other 8 children affected,” she ended.
