The First Lady, Fabiana Rosales, repudiated the violent case experienced in the state of Merida, the murder of two minors.
Anubis Manantial Contreras Peña, 9 years old, and Geraldine Quintero, 16 years old, were abused and murdered in different circumstances in that state.
“Once again they took the lives of two girls who were just beginning their lives. Today, two Merideña families mourn these tragic and abominable murders, the Venezuelan people join in the pain of such an atrocity,” she said in a statement.
Rosales reported that the cases of the minors translate into feminicides that attempt “not only against the childhood and adolescence of the victims, but also against women,” she said.
The First Lady said Venezuelan society suffers the consequences of the absence of policies in favor of women and demanded justice.
