The First Lady of Venezuela, Fabiana Rosales, remarked the importance that the presence of Juan Guaidó in the State of the Union Address of the President of the United States, Donald Trump, means for the country.
Rosales described the event as historic and reiterated the struggle for freedom and democracy in Venezuela.
“It is important for all Venezuelans today that President Juan Guaidó is in President Donald Trump’s annual message, an event that is also historic. Venezuela is moving forward, it is everyone’s job to move forward to recover freedom,” he said.
The First Lady thanked President Donald Trump and his administration for the invitation of Juan Guaidó as Head of State to the annual message.
“We are grateful to President Donald Trump, Vice President Mike Pence, First Lady Melania Trump, for the invitation to our President Juan Guaidó to be present today at the annual message,” she said.
Donald Trump’s invitation to Juan Guaidó to attend his State of the Union address symbolizes a larger endorsement of the president in charge of Venezuela before he returns to Venezuela to continue his fight for political change.
