The First Lady of Venezuela, Fabiana Rosales, reported that they will be collecting and giving away toys to Venezuelan children who suffer from the humanitarian emergency caused by the kidnapping of power in Venezuela, she called on the population to donate toys for the activity called ‘A Smile at Christmas’.
“Today in Venezuela there are one million children who are without their parents, because they were forced to migrate due to the humanitarian emergency. The regime stole the childhood from our children and that is why we want to add this effort (…) Since 2013 most children have not received a toy at Christmas, because their parents, must acquire food or medicine,” said the head of the Office of the First Lady.
She added that the toys will be collected in various points throughout the country, will be classified and delivered the week before Christmas to homes, hospitals, poor sectors and families in a state of vulnerability, “our goal is to give a toy to every child and so we call on all Venezuelans to once again mobilize for this cause.”
Rosales de Guaidó also took the opportunity to express her solidarity with Venepress news agency and its workers, and to condemn the arbitrary closure by the dictatorial regime that left families without a livelihood again, in addition to the violation of freedom of expression and fundamental rights.
