This Friday, hundreds of Venezuelans gathered around the Colombian embassy in Caracas to thank President Duque for the Temporary Protection Statute that will benefit migrants fleeing Nicolás Maduro’s dictatorship.
Juan Guaidó, the president in charge of Venezuela, highlighted these gestures of gratitude by Venezuelan citizens with the president of Colombia.
The national president indicated that “while the dictatorship unjustly insults our historical ally and continues to isolate itself, Venezuelans gather in the streets to recognize the support of Colombia and the courage of President Iván Duque.”
This Wednesday, February 17th, Maduro, criticized the Colombian president and called the immigration measure a that he granted to Venezuelans in Colombia a “mockery.”
The dictator also railed against Duque for pointing out that he was hosting and financing terrorist groups such as the dissident FARC and ELN, in different states of Venezuela.
