The president in charge of Venezuela, Juan Guaidó, celebrated the extension of the mandate of the UN Fact-Finding Mission approved by the countries that make up the Human Rights Council.
“The mandate of the UN Fact-Finding Mission which determined and pointed out Maduro as a criminal against humanity has been extended” announced the President through his Twitter account.
President (e) Guaidó indicated that this “is a recognition to the victims, their families and a society that resists a criminal dictatorship.”
“Late justice in itself degenerates justice, but we know that this recognition is a firm step in the direction of compensating the victims and in not repeating these brutal crimes,” he added.
The Venezuelan Head of State maintained that the only way to obtain justice in Venezuela is by removing Maduro’s regime. “We must put an end to injustice and that will only be possible without the dictatorship”.
“The extension of the mandate is also a warning to those who continue to sustain the dictator as accomplices or executors of crimes against humanity: avoid being the next ones to be singled out. The only possibility for the future is a transition to democracy,” he concluded.
