As a “triumph of resistance” defined the President of Venezuela, Juan Guaidó, the Popular Consultation, during the swearing in of the “Command for Freedom and Free Elections”, in Miranda State.
“The Popular Consultation is not a whim. We are all called to participate. Let us remember that only in teamwork and unity can we win. Today the Popular Consultation is a triumph of resistance”.
He asked those present to “include and link” all those who are necessary in the struggle to achieve the change that is urgently needed in the country to end the crisis that is becoming more and more acute with the passing of the hours. He also told the oath takers that they should go out and organize the municipal and parish Commands.
During his speech he reminded them that rights are not begged for, but demanded. In the same way he indicated that the “fraud of December 6th is defeated.”
“We are not begging for a presidential election, but demanding it. Here we are firm and organized, calling everyone to the streets to exercise the majority. The organization is a testimony of struggle”.
He asked the international community to accompany him in the struggle of Venezuelans to achieve freedom.
Commitment and Unity
An “unavoidable and un-delayable commitment,” said those attending the swearing-in of the “Command for Freedom and Free Elections” in the state of Miranda.
Raul Raffalli, Operational Coordinator of Voluntad Popular in the state of Miranda, said that the citizens will be the protagonists in the Popular Consultation.
“This milestone will lead us to the recovery of democracy. The Popular Consultation is one more action within the struggle to achieve change”.
For his part, Francisco López, from Encuentro Ciudadano, ratified his support for the Consulta and his rejection of the Dec 6th fraud.
“The call is for all Venezuela to continue working. The call is to all Venezuela to continue working. Unity is important. Only in Unity will it be able to get us out of what we are living”.
The ex councilman Omar Villalba, commented that the Popular Consultation summoned by the National Assembly “is not just another Consultation”.
“The state of Miranda will be the first to report sufficient support for the Popular Consultation. We are called to participate because the country is going away, but our lives are wasting away.”
