The president in charge of Venezuela, Juan Guaidó, commemorated the 63rd anniversary of the fall of the dictatorship of Marco Pérez Jiménez and stressed that, as in that date, the union of all Venezuelans is needed to restore democracy in the country.
“On January 23rd, 1958, the transition to the democratic era began in Venezuela, which for decades was synonymous with progress for the country, leaving dictatorships behind, but tyranny returned and with it inequality and regression,” said the president. Similarly, the Venezuelan head of state insisted that democracy is always at stake and therefore citizens must ensure law and order.
“Citizen pressure, the unity of all factors, the support of the Armed Forces and international support are key to solving the crisis and stability in the country with free elections, as it happened in those (elections) of that December 7th, 1958 and for the ones that we fight today,” he ended.
