Following is the full statement published by the President (E) through his social networks regarding the US elections:
On behalf of the Venezuelan people, I extend my congratulations to President-elect Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, the first woman elected Vice President, and the people of the United States.
I thank President Trump and Vice President Pence for their steadfastness and determination in confronting Maduro’s dictatorship and their efforts to help our people who are living in a humanitarian emergency today. We will continue to advance the cause of freedom in Venezuela until the end of his term.
We know that the cause of Freedom and Democracy in Venezuela has bipartisan support in the United States.
With the next Administration and the new Congress, we will continue to carry out our struggle to fulfill our mutual objective: to free the Venezuelan people from the Dictatorship, to recover the right to elect in free presidential and parliamentary elections, and to provide a solution to the serious humanitarian crisis that our people are suffering.
