“Thank you Madrid, thank you Spain. Thanks to God for giving us the opportunity to meet again,” with this greeting, the President (e) of Venezuela, Juan Guaidó, began his meeting with part of the Venezuelan community settled in Spain, who were waiting for him at the Puerta del Sol, in Madrid.
After developing a busy agenda that included receiving the Golden Key and signing the Book of Honor at the Madrid City Hall, Guaidó met again with his compatriots who he asked to actively join the struggle to achieve the country’s freedom.
“I ask you to unite, I know we have made mistakes, but together we have a better chance of achieving freedom. First we have to do our homework, and then pack our bags to return to Venezuela. Let the world see us united, active and mobilized inside and outside Venezuela”.
Guaidó said the generation he represents “did not come to asign blame” but to assume responsibilities; therefore, he called on Venezuelans not to “delegate” such responsibilities but to assume them.
From the Puerta del Sol he acknowledged that for many it has been late, so he asked for forgiveness and ratified his commitment to fight tirelessly until freedom is achieved.
“I want to apologize to Addy Valero (a congresswoman who died recently), to the children of the JM hospital in Los Ríos, to the Venezuelans who are suffering; because I know it is late; but I tell you that we are going to take action to recover Venezuela”.
The President (e) insisted on clarifying that there is not a polarized country, but a united country fighting against the dictatorship.
He announced that he will “soon return” to Venezuela to continue with more strength in the battle that is fought daily.
“I am returning to Venezuela soon, see you at home soon. There will be surprises coming.”
