The President of the Republic, Juan Guaidó, on Friday acknowledged the role of the deputies of the National Assembly who did not give in to the regime’s fragile attempts to take over Parliament.
“The honest majority of deputies resisted with dignity, despite the brutal intimidation and the purchase of consciences,” the president wrote on his personal Twitter account.
He offered his recognition to the faction that represents the majority that “resists, advances and risks its life to achieve change in Venezuela.”
The Board of Directors of the National Assembly (NA), together with deputies Alfonso Marquina and Henry Ramos Allup revealed this Friday the evidence of “Operation Scorpion”, carried out by a group of parliamentarians last January 5th in their attempt to execute what they called a “legislative coup d’état” in the Venezuelan Parliament.
Congressman Marquina released the audio of the attempted bribery that Congressman José “Goyo” Noriega offered him to abandon his support and vote for President Juan Guaidó.
“The evidence presented today by the deputies of the democratic unity leaves exposed the operation that intended to break the majority of the national parliament and now intends to attack the political parties,” said the president Guaidó.
