The President (E) of the Republic, Juan Guaidó, responded to Nicolás Maduro on his request to reach a political agreement. The national leader assured that any political agreement would involve the departure of the dictator from power.
“If they want a political agreement, they must start from a premise: There is no solution to the crisis while the dictatorship is usurping power,” said the Venezuelan president (E).
Guaidó said that his approach does not involve handing over power directly to him. “We have and I am fully aware of the responsibility of my position and that the positions are and should be temporary. The people have the right to elect their president because that is the fight we are giving, it is the fight for the people to choose,” he said.
He also revealed that while the road to freedom is being organized and the conditions for a free and fair presidential election exist, it is necessary to install a National Emergency Government made up of a State Council, where the different sectors of the nation are represented.
The Head of State expressed that despite the immense public and notorious differences, he agrees on the need for a political agreement and the “ceasefire” in Venezuela. However, he explained that to be able to carry this out, the dictatorship must stop murdering Venezuelans through his henchmen, paramilitaries and repressive apparatus, as well as stop persecuting doctors and nurses who denounce the truth in Venezuelan hospitals.
Similarly, the Maduro regime must stop sabotaging the actions taken by the Legitimate Government in favor of the Venezuelan people, such as the Tele-consultation, the Heroes of Health plan and the entry of humanitarian aid that could calm the hunger that is plaguing the country.
“The dictatorship must leave in peace those who in spite of everything continue trying to produce in Venezuela, in the face of the clumsiness in economic matters that has only left more hunger, unemployment, inflation and more confrontation in our country,” he said.
