“Teachers are giving the best lesson to our country today: to fight for their rights and the future of our children. They are not alone, we are going to accompany them”, in this way the President (e) of Venezuela, Juan Guaidó, summarized the day of protests in the country carried out by the teachers this Monday, October 5th, .
As planned, Venezuelan educators took to the streets of the nation to demand their salary and better working conditions.
From one of the points of concentration in the state of Miranda, Guaidó said that once again the teachers showed firmness and courage because they did not give up in spite of the intimidation of the irregular armed groups of the dictatorship, which prevented them from concentrating in front of the Ombudsman Office (Defensoría de Pueblo) in the city of Caracas.
“Teachers, you are not alone. We are together in this process. All Venezuelans, the unions, the different sectors, must join and accompany the teachers for the future of Venezuela”.
Guaidó informed that in the 24 states of the country, educators went out peacefully to protest.
He reminded the National Armed Force (FAN) that “allowing the irregular groups of the regime” to intimidate the educators, “sinks them even more”, and therefore he asked them to take the side of the Constitution.
“We must agitate consciences and exercise the majority in the streets. We have to give testimonies of struggle and continue to confront the dictatorship”.
