Organization, articulation of efforts and pressure to achieve a National Salvation Agreement requested the President of the country, Juan Guaidó, to the residents of Caracas whom he met this Tuesday afternoon and expressed their support for said proposal.
“Our task is to save Venezuela. Our task is to reunify all sectors to pressure and force a National Salvation Agreement. Today more than ever it is time to seek and unite people in the face of this Agreement.”
At the meeting held in the country’s capital, Guaidó said that among the actions to be undertaken are: to achieve the greatest and best possible union, humanitarian aid and defense of human rights, internal pressure and international pressure.
Also, he recalled that the National Salvation Agreement must conclude with the convocation of a schedule of free and fair elections that includes presidential, parliamentary, regional and municipal elections with international observation and support; the massive entry of humanitarian aid and vaccines against COVID-19; democratic guarantees for all the actors of the democratic forces and Chavismo; with mechanisms for the reinstitutionalization of Venezuela; the release of all political prisoners; the return of exiles and transitional justice; the commitment of the international community to achieve the recovery of Venezuela; and offer incentives to the regime, including the progressive lifting of sanctions conditional on compliance with the fundamental objectives of the Agreement.
“It is important that we articulate at this time. This Agreement that we have presented is to save Venezuela. It is not: Everyone for himself. It is not: let’s see who is saved. You have to organize people, summon the streets, make an appeal to the international community. We have to press for the Agreement.”
Guaidó defined the work of reunifying all sectors in order to achieve the necessary pressure to force a National Salvation Agreement as a “duty of all”.
He also asked the neighbors to replicate the message, explain what the Agreement is about, and take it to all sectors and corners of the country.
“There is a very important key at this time, and it is: communicate. Help me to communicate to inform everything related to the National Salvation Agreement. Let us also incorporate as many as we can. I trust Venezuelans, the majority we represent. Thanks for the drive and the effort.”
The President of the interim Government took advantage of the meeting to make a conscience call so that, on the one hand, they denounce the existence of the black market for vaccines against the pandemic, and on the other hand, so that they do not become participants in said crime because that “is to indirectly murder someone.”
