United, unbreakable and unstoppable in the advance of the struggle for freedom in Venezuela, is the political leadership of the opposition despite the recent attacks of the regime against political parties, said the President of the country and of the National Assembly (NA), Juan Guaidó. .
“We are in a solid and purposeful unity for the freedom of Venezuela. Because we will not split up, nor do we allow ourselves to be bought, when (the regime) decides to take over the political parties. They’re not going to break us, here we are, you are the fugitive Maduro. No scorpions, blackmailed pseudo-leaders. They betrayed Venezuela, not Juan Guaidó.”
Guaidó made such statements at a press conference held by the Democratic Action (AD) party, from which the representatives of the political organizations of the Unity addressed the country, but also said that “attacking a political party means attacking the counterweight of power today, tomorrow and forever. Attacking a political party means attacking the demands for which they are fighting for in Venezuela.”
He recalled that it is not the first time that a dictatorship has wanted to banish a political party in the nation, and history has shown that those regimes that have tried have not been fortunate, since they are the ones that have fallen and as a consequence the Republic has prevailed, and this time will not be the exception.
The reelected President of Parliament, said that in just two weeks the “legal arm of the dictatorship” (referring to the illegitimate Supreme Court of Justice), wanted to appoint the leadership of the NA, appointed an illegitimate National Electoral Council (CNE), issued rulings against the leadership of the parties Acción Democrática and Primero Justicia.
“Here is the President of the National Assembly, here is its directive, here are the faction leaders. The CNE, like all public authorities in Venezuela, is appointed by Parliament. I am not here to occupy a chair, I am not interested in a chair, I am here to see my daughter walking peacefully in the streets.”
Guaidó pointed out that the international community does not recognize this “farce of a CNE” either, and as a proof in three days they pronounced themselves to reject it and ignore it.
“There will be no recognition of anything emanating from the legal arm of the dictatorship. That’s not a court, that’s a legal arm to trying to implement political actions to the detriment of Venezuelans.”
Among the leaders present at the press conference were Henry Ramos Allup, secretary general of AD; Alfonso Marquina, for Primero Justicia; Nora Bracho, for Un Nuevo Tiempo; Delsa Solorzano, for Encuentro Ciudadano; and Emilio Graterón, for Voluntad Popular.
President (e) Juan Guaidó ratified that in the meeting with the national and international media that the formation of a National Emergency Government, which has international backing, is the proposal that from the Parliament and the Interim Presidency, continues to raise and work for, to give immediate response to the crisis in Venezuela, and that is worsened every day by the presence of the coronavirus whose spread has been increasing in the last few weeks.
“The National Emergency Government is not a unilateral proposal. This National Emergency Government means transition, with which we can solve the crisis. With it we offer guarantees to all sectors that side with the Constitution”.
He called again on the National Armed Forces (FAN) to “redeem” themselves, and reminded them that they will be an “important factor in the transition and in the National Emergency Government.”
He asked Venezuelans and all sectors of the country to exercise the majority they are, in addition to continuing to raise their voices to express their rejection of the regime.
“We must exercise the sacred right to rebel against tyranny. Today this call is not an ayayay (shout in the dark). I call on you all to act together. The month of May, for example, was the most (socially) agitated month by necessity, despite being in quarantine. It is a lie that today the dictatorship has more support or money than in 2018, neither do they have control of the national territory. They are cowards.”
Henry Ramos Allup, MP and Secretary General of AD, denounced that the regime intends to “steal” the Democratic Action and Justice First symbols to go to parliamentary elections. He also pointed out that there is no international political organization that is not aware of the actions that the opposition has taken in Venezuela to achieve change.
For his part, Deputy Alfonso Marquina, from Primero Justicia, commented that what happened (with the political organizations) is a “chronicle of a death foretold” that began in December 2019 with “Operation Scorpion”, with which they bought the conscience of several members of Parliament, and which was denounced at the time.
Nora Bracho, congresswoman and head of the fraction of Un Nuevo Tiempo in the National Assembly, said that in her party they are standing firm in the fight for democracy in Venezuela to ensure that Venezuelans have quality of life.
Delsa Solorzano, MP and president of Encuentro Ciudadano, reported that this Wednesday the Inter-Parliamentary Union ratified its recognition of Juan Guaidó as the only President of Parliament. She also said that party activism is carried out by conviction.
Finally, Emilio Graterón, National Coordinator of Voluntad Popular, said that this organization will continue to work daily for Venezuela, to stop the usurpation and to end the dictatorship. He stressed that in Voluntad Popular, “there are no terrorists,” as the regime has tried to imply.
