Pizarro highlighted the importance of the COVAX mechanism so that Venezuelans have access to vaccines against COVID-19

The presidential commissioner for the United Nations, Miguel Pizarro, stated that the COVAX mechanism is of vital importance to obtain high-quality vaccines at low costs.

“The solidarity of the International Community is essential so that the world, and Venezuela, are part of this and thus help save millions of lives,” said the senior official of the Legitimate Government through his social network accounts.

Pizarro stated that “unfortunately, the opacity of the regime in terms of data and debts, made Venezuela not eligible for free vaccines but even so, our country has the opportunity to obtain quality vaccines at the least possible cost through the COVAX mechanism. It is vital to achieve this,” he said.

This Friday, the President of the United States, Joe Biden, will announce a contribution of 2 billion dollars for the COVAX mechanism, which will guarantee access to vaccines against COVID-19 at a subsidized price for millions of people in the world.
