The presidential commissioner for the United Nations, Miguel Pizarro, pointed to Tarek William Saab as one of the main culprits for impunity for the crimes of the FAES.
“Yesterday a video went viral that shows the usual practice of the FAES: kidnapping and intimidation. They ordered the workers of a farm to dig a well while isolating a farmer businessman,” Pizarro said in a message posted on Twitter.
“What was seen in that video is not an isolated practice, on the contrary, it is the routine action of this body weighted with more than 7,000 extrajudicial executions from its creation until now,” he said.
“Both the Fact Finding Mission and the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights have evidenced the performance of the FAES and other State agencies in criminal acts against humanity, against Venezuelans,” said Pizarro.
Also, the representative of the Legitimate Government maintained that the FAES has been acting in this way for years under direct orders of the regime.
“Yesterday, Tarek Saab tried to excuse himself while being one of the main responsible for his omission and complicity.”
“‘I don’t know what’s wrong’ was one of the excuses made by Tarek Saab. If you don’t know, I invite you to read the report of the Fact-finding Mission and that of High Commissioner Bachelet. If it is still not enough, I invite you to continue the investigation of the International Criminal Court,” he added.
Finally, Pizarro acknowledged the effort that different human rights organizations have been making so that these actions do not go unpunished.
“Today, thanks to pressure from NGOs, family members and victims of human rights violations, leaders and the International Community, these actions have been reviewed and reported and there are investigations so that justice reaches all Venezuelans,” he ended.
Ayer se hizo viral un video que muestra la práctica usual del FAES:secuestro y amedrentamiento. Ordenaron a los trabajadores de una finca a cavar un pozo mientras incomunicaban a un empresario agricultor.
