The Presidential Commissioner for Human Rights and Attention to Victims, Humberto Prado, documented and reported on police abuse of Venezuelan citizens by Nicolás Maduro’s regime to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet.
According to Provea, in the first six months of 2020, 1611 people were murdered by police and military forces. That is, nine people per day.
The Commissioner also sent the information to the Executive Secretary of the IACHR, Paulo Abrao, and the Secretary General of the OAS, Luis Almagro.
“The Scientific, Criminal, and Criminalistic Investigation Corps (CICPC) killed 366, the Bolivarian National Guard killed 136, and the police forces of the State of Zulia killed 124 people,” he said.
