The president in charge of Venezuela, Juan Guaidó, denounced this Tuesday the disappearance of the journalist, Roland Carreño, at the hands of officials of Nicolás Maduro’s dictatorship.
“The journalist Roland Carreño is still missing. We alert the world to his forced disappearance,” Guaidó said in a message posted on his official Twitter account.
In this sense, the Venezuelan head of state held Maduro’s regime responsible for any physical and mental aggression against the journalist.
“Maduro, you coward! Not even by kidnapping an entire country will you silence the Voice of Venezuela”, he ended.
After more than 24 hours of Carreño’s disappearance, the First Lady of the Republic, Fabiana Rosales, recalled that Article 45 of the Constitution “prohibits any public authority, whether civil or military, even in a state of emergency, exception, or restriction of guarantees, from practicing, permitting, or tolerating the forced disappearance of persons.”
Fabiana Rosales also demanded information on the journalist’s whereabouts and alerted the international community about his forced disappearance.
“The regime is responsible for his integrity,” she said.
“Es responsabilidad del régimen su integridad”, dijo.
El periodista Roland Carreño continúa desaparecido. Alertamos al mundo sobre su desaparición forzada y hacemos responsable a la dictadura de su integridad física y mental.
Maduro ¡cobarde! Ni secuestrando a todo un país callarás la Voz de Venezuela.
