The following is the full letter sent by President (E) Juan Guaidó to Emmanuel Macron
Mr. Emmanuel Macron
President of the French Republic
Receive a cordial greeting on behalf of the Venezuelan people. I would like to take this opportunity to express our congratulations to France and its Government on the occasion of Bastille Day.
Just as the French people fought in the past to achieve their freedom, in Venezuela we are carrying out a long struggle against a regime that violates our Laws and Human Rights. For this reason, we deeply appreciate your commendable work of support and leadership for the Venezuelan cause, which we hope will continue to promote, in order to achieve the reestablishment of the Constitutional Order and a political solution within the framework of a National Emergency Government so as to begin the reconstruction of our Nation under the ideals of “Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité”.
We hope that France will continue to recover itself after the pandemic, and continue its role as leader of the universal values that guide democracies around the world.
Wishing to reinforce the warm relations between our countries, for the well-being and progress of our peoples, I bid you farewell with my highest esteem and consideration.
Juan Guaidó Márquez
Speaker of the National Assembly
President (E) of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela
