The Popular Consultation for Venezuela, is a constitutional right proposed by the Venezuelan Parliament, which will have as a strategy to articulate the unity of the majority of the citizens to exercise sovereignty and to express ourselves in rejection of the electoral fraud sponsored by the regime and to demand electoral conditions for the realization of verifiable, free and fair presidential and parliamentary elections, as was highlighted this Wednesday by the president in charge of Venezuela and the National Assembly, Juan Guaidó, during a virtual meeting with the business sector of Nueva Esparta.
“To articulate the unity to be able to organize, communicate, exercise the right to be a majority and be able to live with dignity in Venezuela. That is the practical element of the citizen consultation that will allow us to express ourselves to reject the electoral fraud in view of the illegitimate parliamentary elections this December 6th by the regime” said Guaidó who, in turn, reiterated that the National Emergency Government “is necessary for the country.”
He asked the business representatives and social leaders to consolidate efforts to articulate with the Venezuelans in the organization of the citizen consultation. To promote participation, to inform about the guarantees contemplated by the National Emergency Government, and once we install the Transition Government the mechanism for lifting sanctions to offer legal security, to guarantee public services and the reinstatement of respect for human rights.
In the opinion of the Head of State, the citizen’s alternative that Venezuela has for the economic recovery is based on building a National Emergency Government which will allow the democratic transition to be carried out, and he urged that in order to accomplish this political route, supported by the majority of Venezuelans, “it is to look for all the determining pressure mechanisms, which are very important in the current times”.
“Each intervention that generates a proposal, each proposal that is generated and raises its voice, is a voice of hope and a light. Ninety percent of Venezuelans want and are for this and it is our duty to fulfill and honor that commitment and we will do it without any doubt,” he said.
He criticized the illegitimate approval of the Anti-Blockade Law, which he called a “swindle” arguing that its origin is fraudulent because “the spurious ANC cannot issue this instrument as a law,” which does not provide legal certainty to foreign investors or confidence, because its main promoter, Nicolas Maduro, is a fugitive from international justice accused of crimes against humanity, drug trafficking and corruption. “Maduro is the pran of Venezuela and no private investor will do business with him and much less, under this Law, is the country’s economy going to be reactivated,” he whipped.
Multifactorial crisis in Nueva Esparta
The Interim President heard representatives of the chambers of commerce, tourism, hotels, business, education, health, cultural sectors and NGO’s in the state of Nueva Esparta, in order to present their proposals, visions and concerns that would help in the rescue of the reinstatement of Venezuela.
The group of representatives stated that after the end of the usurpation, it must be essential to revive tourism, through the granting of economic and fiscal incentives to Margarita’s entrepreneurs, which will generate jobs and, above all, will help energize and recover the economy of Nueva Esparta.
Among the most outstanding complaints are: fuel crisis; fall of tourism; economic depression and reduction of the gross domestic product; poor conditions to provide face-to-face and distance education; collapse of public services; decay of galleries and museums.
