The president in charge of Venezuela, Juan Guaidó, affirmed that addressing the humanitarian emergency, uniting and mobilizing all the factors in Venezuela and international support is the strategy to follow to bring about pressure for a solution to the crisis through free elections.

The national president recalled that this week, “we continue to show the progress of the Madre María de San José Plan, with which we managed to attend life-threatening cases of vulnerable Venezuelans in the face of the humanitarian emergency.”

Similarly, he highlighted the meeting with social and political leaders from the Libertador Municipality, forgotten by the dictatorship.

Furthermore, he continued, “we set the lines of action and consolidated efforts for the freedom of Venezuela. We are all necessary in this fight.”

“In Caracas, Carlos Prosperi, in Bolívar, Andrés Velasquez, and in Lara, Alfredo Ramos, accompanied the citizens in the streets to demand their rights, freedom and democracy, challenging the dictatorship in the streets,” he added.

He also highlighted how the deputies of the National Assembly toured the Vargas state to summon Venezuelans to continue fighting together for the rescue of freedom and democracy in the country.

“Meanwhile, those who hijack power were prioritized to get vaccinated against COVID-19, instead of the most vulnerable Venezuelans,” he lamented.

Faced with this situation, the President said that “it is important that the COVAX vaccine can arrive and comply with the humanitarian principles required by multilateral organizations.”

SUPPORT OF THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY

President (E) applauded the concentration of Venezuelans outside the Colombian Embassy who supported President Iván Duque’s measure to protect our brothers.

“The same solidarity that on other times our country offered to so many who were fleeing similar tragedies, we ask the world for it today,” he said.

On the other hand, he stated that in the international arena, the Basque Parliament and the International Democratic Center recognized the National Assembly and the Government in Charge as the legitimate interlocutor for Venezuela. At the same time, Amnesty International asked the ICC to include in its report the executions by the Venezuelan police in La Vega Parrish.

“Making the greatest possible international pressure converge, and as much internal pressure as possible, all aimed at achieving conditions to get free presidential and parliamentary elections, is the task we must achieve at this time,” he said.
