The President (E) of Venezuela, Juan Guaidó, recognized the impetus of the Student Movement that mobilized throughout the country to demand that the National Armed Force step forward and take the side of the Constitution.
“In Caracas, the students took to the streets and carried the message to our Armed Forces: we are all in this together and we need every Venezuelan who wants change. It’s a struggle that unites us as Venezuelans,” President Guaidó said through his personal Twitter account.
Also, the Head of State emphasized his support to the students for the great leadership work they have in seeking a way out of the Venezuelan crisis. “They have demonstrated once again their advanced character and the peaceful, libertarian and citizen spirit of this struggle,” he added.
“Today they achieved their objective and we saw how the feelings of our Armed Forces are the same as that of all Venezuelans: this emergency situation also disrupts the military family. Disregarding any sector, Venezuela unites us and this country needs all of us,” said the president.
Guaidó recalled the importance of keeping the protest in the streets to let those who remain on the side of the regime under intimidation to join the democratic struggle to free Venezuela from the dictatorship of Nicolas Maduro.
“Our cadets, the moral reserve of the youth, are used by the regime to march and support a political militancy, violating art. 328 of the constitution. We insist with the call to civilians and military: It is up to all of us to advance with strength to get out of the dictatorship,” he concluded.
