President (E) Guaidó said he will not participate in elections that do not resolve the crisis

The President in charge of Venezuela, Juan Guaidó, said during an interview with the journalist Andrés Openheimer, in CNN in Spanish, that he does not rule out any mechanism to resolve the country’s crisis, provided that the social cost is as low as possible, and predicted that If there is no quick solution, there will be at least 8 million Venezuelan migrants in 2020.

“It is estimated, and I say it is estimated because unfortunately we do not have specific figures, that between 4.7 million and 6 million Venezuelans have emigrated. A fairly broad estimate but that could easily reach 8 million next year if we do not take corrective measures, which implies the impact on the region, with all that implies inside Venezuela, not only for the democratic struggle but also to recover and rescue our country”, he said.

On the other hand, he assured that international sanctions should be deepened, especially in the European continent.

The president of the National Assembly also said that the Venezuelan crisis is a regional crisis of great proportions, so the Maduro dictatorship’s support for the Colombian guerrillas, paramilitary groups, and even Hezbollah elements that could be active in the country should be investigated.

On a possible electoral process, the president warned that there are a large number of pre conditions to reach an election, such as the appointment of a new National Electoral Center (CNE), strict international supervision, the participation of Venezuelans abroad, among other variables.

“We will not participate in any election that does not contribute to effectively solve the crisis … There can be no competitive elections if the nominations are not free”, he said.

Guaidó, in several sections of the interview, reiterated the complaint about repression, persecution, the imprisonment of parliamentarians, among other violations of human and political rights that are registered in Venezuela.
