The president in charge of Venezuela, Juan Guaidó, held a telephone conversation on Sunday with the wife of Captain Rafael Acosta Arévalo, on the first anniversary of his assassination by Nicolás Maduro’s dictatorship.
“I spoke with Waleswka, wife of Captain Acosta Arevalo, a year after being tortured to death by the dictatorship,” the Venezuelan head of state said in a message published on his Twitter account.
President (e) Guaidó pledged to accompany her “in her quest for justice like all those who fight for freedom.”
Finally, he said “they torture because they know that discontent persists in the Armed Forces.”
