The President (E) of the Republic, Juan Guaidó, thanked his Colombian counterpart, Iván Duque, for his work on behalf of Venezuelan democracy and the citizens who have come to his country in search of refuge.
“We appreciate his leadership for the Venezuelan cause in the region and the support to our migrants,” he said this Wednesday through his personal Twitter account.
The Venezuelan president explained that together with Duque, they are working on increasing international pressure necessary to generate the dismissal of the dictator, Nicolas Maduro.
This Wednesday, the Venezuelan ambassador to Colombia, Tomas Guanipa, presented his letters of credence to President Duque, the credentials that confirm him as the highest Venezuelan diplomatic representative in that country.
Guanipa thanked the Colombian president for the collaboration and support given to the Venezuelan migrants who have arrived in that nation.
“With the support of the Colombian government, the Venezuelan diaspora that has fled the regime has found a place to develop and contribute,” he said.
