The President of the Republic, Juan Guaidó, thanked this Thursday the United Kingdom government for its recognition and support in protecting Venezuela’s assets.
Guaidó also acknowledged the work of the United Kingdom in keeping Venezuelan gold safe at the Bank of England, following a hearing at the High Court in London.
“The country’s assets are key to reconstruction,” he concluded.
On May 14th, 2020, Nicolas Maduro’s regime attempted a lawsuit to access nearly one billion euros in gold deposited in the Bank of England. Supposedly, it was to execute an assistance plan with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) for the attention of the COVID-19. However, this plan does not exist.
As a result of this new lie of the dictatorship, the High Court of London decided to initiate an investigation to determine who leads the Government of Venezuela as recognized by the United Kingdom. The answer was very clear, the United Kingdom has repeatedly recognized President (E) Juan Guaidó as the country’s leader.
The Court’s decision is expected in the coming weeks.
