The president in charge of the Republic, Juan Guaidó, thanked his Colombian counterpart, Iván Duque, for signing and promulgating this Monday the decree creating the Temporary Protection Statute for Venezuelans, a historic and unprecedented measure in the region.
“Thank you Pdte. Duque for the courage to confront the dictatorship and fight for the region,” said the Venezuelan head of state in a message through his official Twitter account.
Likewise, the national president expressed that “today is a day of certainties for almost 2 million Venezuelans in Colombia” who fled the crisis generated by Nicolás Maduro’s dictatorship.
