According to the President in Charge, Juan Guaidó, the presumed death of the guerrilla Jesús Santrich in the Sierra de Perijá, Zulia State, is one more evidence that Maduro protects terrorists and a part of the Dissident FARC in Venezuela.
This Wednesday, May 19th, In a press conference with national and international media, he remarked that the clashes in Apure, and if the death of Santrich is confirmed in national territory, is an infallible example of the “failed state kidnapped by a dictatorship” in which they have converted Venezuela.
“We have been denouncing for years the presence of irregular armed groups in Venezuela that have the consent of Maduro, who not only has invited them to Miraflores, but also gave them official protection. The presumed death of Santrich ratifies Maduro’s protection of terrorists in Venezuela. What are they going to say today? (on the death of Santrich in Zulia). He was in Venezuela and protected by Nicolás Maduro ”.
The Interim President also recalled that it is precisely these terrorists who “assassinate and kidnap Venezuelan soldiers” (in reference to the confrontations in Apure State).
In the meeting with the media, Guaidó took the opportunity to alert, once again, the international community about the “danger that Maduro represents” not only for Venezuelans, but for the region.
He also asked “Where is Iván Márquez? Does Maduro continue to protect him? Are they going to continue protecting the Dissident FARC?” He also requested again that the National Armed Forces (FAN) bring these terrorists to justice (in reference to the guerrillas).
Urgent and relevant
The President in Charge of the country insisted on the relevance and urgency of reaching a National Salvation Agreement to put an end to the tragedy in the country.
“Today more than ever the National Salvation Agreement is made urgent and pertinent. Saving Venezuela is saving the country, it is saving sovereignty, it is saving the family. There is no sovereignty without a country, and there is no country without sovereignty. It is time for the homeland.”
He stressed that “the democratic alternative is ready to achieve a comprehensive National Salvation Agreement” that concludes with the convening of a schedule of free and fair elections that includes presidential, parliamentary, regional and municipal votes with international observation and support; the massive entry of humanitarian aid and vaccines against COVID-19; democratic guarantees for all the actors of the Democratic Forces and Chavismo; with mechanisms for the re-institutionalization of Venezuela; the release of all political prisoners; the return of exiles and transitional justice; the commitment of the international community to achieve the recovery of Venezuela and offer incentives to the regime, including the progressive lifting of sanctions conditional on compliance with the fundamental objectives of the Agreement.
He finally assured that they will remain firm in the fight at all times, as well as maintain the internal mobilization, the pressure, the accompaniment of the demands of all sectors.
