The President (E) of Venezuela, Juan Guaidó, welcomed the sanctions that the European Union imposed on officials of Nicolás Maduro’s regime.
“The European Union has sanctioned regime officials and scorpions who destroy democracy and opportunities for solutions to the crisis in Venezuela,” he said through his Twitter account.
The Head of State assured that the international community has begun to reject the electoral farce that the Maduro dictatorship intends to carry out in the parliamentary elections.
The re-elected president of the National Assembly said that the usurpers will not be able to spend the money they have stolen either in America or in Europe.
“No one is going to recognize an electoral simulation, and neither will those who lend themselves to it go unpunished. It went badly for them in 2017 and 2018, this time it will be much worse,” he said.
The European Union (EU) sanctioned officials who, under the orders of the dictator Nicolas Maduro, tried to take control of the legislative body.
“The people added to the list are particularly responsible for acting against the democratic functioning of the National Assembly, including stripping parliamentary immunity from several of its members, including its president, Juan Guaidó. The actions that motivate the decision also include initiating politically motivated prosecutions and creating obstacles to a political and democratic solution to the crisis in Venezuela, as well as serious violations of human rights and restrictions on fundamental freedoms, such as freedom of the press and expression,” reads the statement from the EU European Council.
