The president in charge of the Republic, Juan Guaidó, condemned this Monday the maneuver promoted by Nicolás Maduro’s dictatorship to arbitrarily and un-constitutionally appoint a National Electoral Council.
“Whatever the arbitrariness of the dictatorship, it will have the same result as on May 20th, 2018 or December 6th, 2020: it will only worsen the crisis,” said the Venezuelan head of state in a message posted on Twitter.
Similarly, President in Charge Guaidó reiterated that the only solution to the Venezuelan conflict is an agreement that allows free and fair presidential elections to build trust in Venezuela and address the emergency.
“We have said it in every way: only free and fair elections, respecting the Constitution and human rights, will be the solution and will grant guarantees for all. Our allies and Venezuelans ratify it through the unitary platform. We will fight until we achieve it,” he added.
Finally, the national leader stressed that the Venezuelan democratic union will reject any un-constitutional organism that the dictatorship intends to set up.
“The dictatorship must understand that treating or manufacturing scorpions (Quislings) has not been successful and this time it will not be different,” he concluded.
